ARTIST STATEMENT

I am interested in our innate attachments with our surroundings and the stories we create to convey complex connections. My work draws from mythology and folk traditions intermixed and paralleled to contemporary issues.

My work intends to capture the rawness of the awesome, universal bonds amongst us. Using motifs of landscapes, bodies and the fantastical I explore the circular, cyclical impacts of our decisions both on an individual and a collective level. Through drawings, sculptures, written and performance work I aim to celebrate the magnificence of these relationships and to generate a discussion on the Anthropocene’s historical and modern impacts.
